ABC News highlighted H. Marion’s holistic design approach for two recent projects; St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison and Saint Joseph Hospital’s Family Birthplace in Chicago. For each project our design team selected a range of artworks and color palettes that provided a more restful, spa-like atmosphere for patients. The resulting rooms in both hospitals have a level of comfort normally ascribed to hotels rather than hospitals.
Owner Jan Marion was interview by Susanna Kim for the article and spoke about the trend towards spa-like healthcare design: “Hospitals recognize that not only is artwork a necessary part of interior finish, but they also understand that it’s a marketing expense,” Marion said. “A new family makes healthcare decisions that will have long lasting impact on a healthcare provider.”
