Presence Saint Joseph Hospital
Chicago, IL
Saint Joseph Hospital recently renovated their emergency department, which was originally built in 1983.
The entry features clean and contemporary images and combines soothing Midwest landscapes with downtown Chicago architectural imagery to give patients a sense of place. To add visual interest while also considering the high-traffic nature of the ED, images are printed on acrylic panels, which are then drilled and float mounted directly to the painted drywall and and set inside sound attenuating acoustic wall panels. A 48″ printed logo sits at the entrance to the ED, drilled and mounted using 1″ brushed nickel standoffs.
The hospital, which sits across the street from Lake Michigan, was a perfect match to a series of photography and prints depicting boats and life on the lakefront.
